Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical is a major journal of theoretical physics reporting research on the mathematical structures that describe fundamental processes of the physical world and on the analytical, computational and numerical methods for exploring these structures.Research papers published in Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical (JPA) are categorised into one of seven subject sections, defined below. To be acceptable for publication in the journal, papers must make significant, original and correct contributions to one or more of the topics within these sections.Mathematical papers should be clearly motivated by actual or potential application to physical phenomena.Statistical physics: nonequilibrium systems, computational methods and modern equilibrium theoryChaotic and complex systemsBiological modellingMathematical physicsQuantum mechanics and quantum information theoryField theory and string theoryFluid and plasma theory
